Hello Everyone!
WOW….2020 has hit us like a bolt of lightning….I have always believed that there is a reason for everything….and there are no coincidences….We are here navigating these unprecedented times because our Mother Earth is not happy with us ….She needed to grab our attention and boy has she ever….….
I am writing this newsletter to let you all know that the Conference put on by CNCH (Conference for Northern California Handweavers) has of course been cancelled in light of our current health crisis. They reached out to me to ask if I would participate in a sale (From April 3 through the 5th) of all the venders and Instructors that were to teach at the conference. They are sending out a newsletter to their entire organization. I have decided to participate in their sale and to put it out to all of you as well.
Here are the Parameters of My Sale:
- My sale will be from April 1st to April 7th
- I will give a 20% discount on all items in the shop on the website.
- If you are interested in a particular item, you must contact me through my email at [email protected] with the number of the piece.
- Through the email we will establish a 20% discount sale price for the week of April 1 -7. You can send me a check for the piece and I will ship your item directly. There will be no charge for shipping during that week.
- I am unable to accept credit Cards during this time and all sales will be final.
I Felt it was Important to put some beauty out into the world during this difficult time when it’s so easy to become fearful…
I added 9 new pieces to the shop all from my personal collection.
I put in the 2 Nuno Felted Collars that were my samples for the workshop I was to teach, along with a third collar that was dyed in one pot, as well as 2 of my favorite Nuno felted shawl/scarfs. I also added in 4 new Indigo pieces that are dear to me, as is all my Indigo work.
I hope you may find something that brings you joy in all of these lovely pieces….it is no coincidence that everything is designed as a “wrap”…..I will leave you with something I wrote for a trunk show I did in Boulder Colorado in 2011. I think it is so appropriate……. now more than ever:
“SHAWL AS METAPHOR”
THE SHAWL IS A METAPHOR FOR “THE ARMOR FOR ENLIGHTENMENT IN HARD TIMES”. THIS TRANSLATES TO USING HUMOR, SIMPLICITY, LIGHTNESS OF BEING, BEAUTY, AND ELEGANCE AS A WAY OF PROTECTING OUR HEARTS AND PROJECTING THIS POSITIVE ENERGY BACK OUT INTO THE WORLD.
THE EDGES OF MY PLEATED BORDERS (OR RUFFLES) ARE TORN, SIGNIFYING THE RAWNESS OF THESE TIMES… CONSEQUENTLY, THREADS WILL WANT TO COME OFF. AS YOU PULL THESE LOOSE THREADS, THINK OF THEM AS PRAYERS OF LOVING KINDNESS BEING SENT BACK OUT INTO THE WORLD (MUCH LIKE THE TIBETIAN PRAYER FLAGS).
THESE COLLECTIONS REPRESENT MANY MONTHS OF JOYOUS CREATIVITY, PROFOUND INSIGHT, MOVING FORWARD WITH THE HEART, AND A CONTINOUS JOURNEY INTO THE ART OF MANIFESTING THOUGHT INTO A TANGIBLE REALITY…
NAMASTE HUGS TO YOU ALL, STAY WELL AND BE HEALTHY
